Michael Petersen Drake is an experienced trial lawyer whose practice focuses on criminal defense and personal injury. Mr. Drake has represented an assortment of criminal defendants with a variety of charges ranging from simple misdemeanors to aggravated felonies including sexual offenses and homicides. Mr. Drake regularly appears for hearings in Courts of differing jurisdictions, as well as administrative proceedings including Driver’s License Suspension Hearings prosecuted by the Georgia Department of Driver Services.

Mr. Drake received his Juris Doctorate degree from The University of Miami School of Law. He earned a number of awards including The Dean’s Certificate of Outstanding Academic Achievement for earning the highest grade in his Legal Communications and Research class. Mr. Drake was one of few students honorably selected to serve as an ambassador for the South Florida Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel.

During law school, Mr. Drake was employed by one of Miami’s most prestigious personal injury law firms, where he developed a passion for litigation and aided in the recovery millions of dollars in a multitude of diverse cases including no fault claims, wrongful death actions, and other serious injury accidents.

Mr. Drake joined the Georgia Bar in 2015 and began trying cases immediately upon admittance. Mr. Drake quickly shined in the courtroom, and within his first year he recovered close to one million dollars for clients wrongfully injured in motor vehicle collisions. Mr. Drake understands how to accurately evaluate property damage, how to analyze medical reports, and most importantly, how to effectively negotiate with insurance companies.

Michael Drake is known for his honesty, integrity, and effectiveness in representing his clients. He is truly a “rising star” in the Atlanta Legal Community. He is a car enthusiast and devoted golfer in his spare time.
